WCAC’s Head Start program was the recipient of a donation of two Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) from the Scholastic Sports Zone Foundation. Members of the foundation presented the two life saving devices, valued at approximately $4,000, to WCAC as part of the program’s professional development day for early education staff at WCAC’s Head Start Center located at 25 Cole Avenue, Southbridge. Worcester Community Action Council, Inc. will be offering its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program in Webster for households earning less than $60,000, on Saturday, March 11th from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturday, March 18th from 2 – 6 p.m. at WCAC’s Head Start Center located at 116 School Street, Webster, Read more here.

The Worcester Free Tax Service Coalition will celebrate 20 years of making tax credits and tax preparation accessible for low income households through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program with a kickoff planned for January 30th. Read more here.

WCAC will be closed to the public January 5th – 10th to facilitate the relocation of our office. We will reopen to the public at our new space located on the 5th floor at 18 Chestnut Street, Worcester on Wednesday, January 11th. We are working hard to minimize interruption in service to our clients during this time but do anticipate brief periods of impact on our phone lines and email system as we transition to our new space.
