Worcester Community Action Council Receives $25,000 Donation to Boost Fuel Fund
Worcester, MA – December 18, 2024 – The Worcester Community Action Council, Inc. (WCAC) is thrilled to announce a generous $25,000 donation from Cornerstone Bank to support the WCAC Fuel Fund. This significant contribution will enable WCAC to expand its critical assistance programs, providing heating support to low-income families throughout Central Massachusetts this winter.
As the federally designated anti-poverty agency for Central and South-Central Massachusetts, WCAC has long played a pivotal role in the fight against economic inequality. With the winter months approaching, the need for heating assistance becomes increasingly urgent. This timely donation from Cornerstone Bank will directly benefit families struggling to meet their heating needs in the colder weather.
Marybeth Campbell, CEO of WCAC, expressed her gratitude, stating, “We are immensely grateful to Cornerstone Bank for their continued partnership and generous support. Their commitment to our community is evident in their actions. This donation will provide much-needed relief to many families facing the harsh New England winter. Together, we are warming homes and hearts, ensuring that no one is left in the cold.”
“We know the high price of fuel is making it difficult for families to stay warm as winter sets in,” said Cornerstone Bank CEO Todd Tallman. “That’s why we appreciate the Worcester Community Action Council’s work to make sure our neighbors are taken care of.”
The WCAC Fuel Fund is part of the agency’s broader initiative to assist individuals and families in achieving economic self-sufficiency. Through generous donations and community support, WCAC continues to serve as a beacon of hope and a facilitator of essential services to those in need.
